Privacy Policy for Calorie Food Scanner

Calorie Food Scanner is operated by Fitflow. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Calorie Food Scanner helps users scan food, nutrition labels, and barcodes to estimate calories, macros, net carbs, ingredients, and meal information. The app is for general informational and wellness purposes only. It is not medical advice.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use the app:

  • Food photos and nutrition label images: If you take a photo or choose one from your gallery, the app uses that image to analyze food or nutrition labels. These images may be sent to AI services to generate nutrition estimates. Images may also be stored so your food history and saved foods can show the original image.
  • Food, meal, and nutrition data: The app may store foods you scan or manually enter, including calories, macros, net carbs, ingredients, serving estimates, meal history, saved foods, and meal plans.
  • Profile and goal information: If you enter information such as age, gender, height, weight, target weight, activity level, diet goals, calorie targets, carb targets, protein targets, or fat targets, the app uses that information to personalize your macro plan and app experience.
  • Health and activity data: If you give permission, the app may read step data from Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or similar device health services. If you log hydration, the app may write water entries to your health app if you give permission. You can manage or remove these permissions in your device settings.
  • Camera and photo library access: The app requests camera access so you can scan food, barcodes, and labels. The app requests photo library access so you can choose existing food photos.
  • Barcode data: When you scan a barcode, the app may send the barcode number to a food database such as Open Food Facts to look up product nutrition information.
  • Account and purchase information: The app may use anonymous account identifiers or app-generated user IDs to save your data and purchases. If you buy a subscription, purchase status and subscription information may be processed through Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat.
  • Device, app, ads, and diagnostics data: The app may collect basic device and usage information needed to run the app, show ads to non-subscribers, prevent abuse, fix bugs, measure performance, and manage subscriptions.
